It all became more progressive, without leaving the typical Thyrfing trademarks behind. In 1997 Hammerheart Records was very popular, and was the influence of the Africans... In 1997 Hammerheart Records was very enthusiastic about the bands second demo and signed the band, which resulted in their debut-album Thyrfing, recorded at Abyss Studio and made a breakthrough for Thyrfing, resulting in killer reviews, a big European tour and an appearance at Dynamo Open Air in 1999! The follow-up Valdr Galga was recorded at Sunlight Studios.
